Purpose/Mission Statement: The Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum presents a frequently changing programme of exhibitions and events. There are many areas our volunteers can assist and these are as follows: Saturday Helper - Every Saturday we are open from 10am - 5pm and have a volunteer assist a staff member. There are two shifts. Morning shift: 10am - 1.30pm & Afternoon shift: 1.30pm - 5pm. Volunteers assist by welcoming visitors and providing information regarding the current exhibitions. They can also help with a number of general administration tasks. Install / Demount Exhibitions - With four exhibition spaces there is always something coming and going! Installing & demounting exhibitions requires a good level of fitness and agility. Volunteers assist with unpacking/packing, hanging artwork and even moving walls! Function - Most exhibitions have an official function. Here at the Gallery/Museum we pride ourselves on ensuring each launch is well received and enjoyed by the community. Assistance is required with function set up, meet and greet, food service and pack up. Workshops - Adult and kids workshops are held regularly. These are some of the skills required by our volunteers in different areas of the Art Gallery & Museum: - Clerical (filing, typing, archiving) - Data Input & Cataloguing - Customer service - Mail outs (sticking labels, stuffing envelopes) - Exhibition installation/demount - Exhibition openings &events in B/H (9am-5pm) - Exhibition openings & events in A/H (5-9pm) - School programs Should you require further information please contact (07) 4976 6766.
