Tax Help Volunteer

Position Description: Tax Help is a group of community volunteers who assist low-income earners with their tax responsibilities during the July to October tax season. Volunteers will be required to give advice and help prepare simple tax returns and other tax forms for individual taxpayers. Volunteers will be trained by the Australian Tax Office (ATO) and will use the their e-tax software to prepare returns.

Position Location: Gladstone

Required Skills / Experience: Enthusiasm, basic arithmetic skills and a desire to help others. Training options available to suit individual needs including self-paced learning. Volunteers must pass an open book accreditation exam set by the ATO to be part of the program.

Gained Skills / Experience: Meet new people, increase confidence and skills. Learn how to prepare and lodge tax returns using e-tax software with ongoing support from the ATO.

Days & Times Available: Available during Tax season (July-Oct 2019). Position is available to suit volunteer any day(s) Mon-Fri 8:30am-4:00pm.
