Position Description: GMAI is looking for a Media Reporter and Newsletter Writer. You will be required to be GMAI media representative. You will be required to communicate and promote GMAI activities to members and the community. Your tasks as Media Reporter taking the lead on all of GMAI media correspondence. Writing for newspaper columns. Organizing for media releases on regular basis and prior to events. The writing of and constructing a fortnightly newsletter. Liaise with a several media outlets. Upgrading and updating both GMAI Facebook and Website.
Position Location: Gladstone
Required Skills / Experience: Basic computer skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Able to report construct and write a fortnightly newsletter. Able to work with both Facebook and Website programs. Use of the English language • Ability to work and communicate with people from different cultural backgrounds. Driver’s license an advantage. The role includes social and digital communications and administration support.
Gained Skills / Experience: Communication skills, local knowledge and social and professional networking. Media exposure. Knowledge about the workings of Facebook and Website Sites
